Rocky Washington is a highly accomplished executive with over 35 years of experience in the pharmaceutical and clinical research industries. Most recently serving as the Executive Director of Clinical Trial Liaison at Spectrum Pharmaceuticals, Rocky has demonstrated an exceptional ability to lead teams, foster relationships, and drive successful outcomes in clinical trials and business development initiatives. He has a proven track record of transforming underperforming markets, launching new medical products, and raising significant research funds for innovative therapies.
Throughout his career, Rocky has held leadership positions that have honed his expertise in marketing biologicals and medical products across several key areas, including nephrology, infectious diseases, cardiovascular, and hepatology. His international experience spans across Europe, where he has led pre-site evaluations in countries such as Spain, France, Italy, and the United Kingdom. His focus has been particularly strong in oncology, with an emphasis on breast cancer and non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), where his strategic vision and operational leadership have consistently exceeded expectations.
At Spectrum Pharmaceuticals, Rocky was instrumental in the successful enrollment and completion of several clinical trials ahead of schedule, including the pivotal Rolontis and Zenith trials. His collaborative leadership style enabled cross-functional teams to troubleshoot challenges, maintain strong partnerships, and achieve operational efficiency in both U.S. and European clinical settings. Before joining Spectrum Pharmaceuticals, Rocky served as the Vice President of Business Development at Precision Biologics, where he successfully raised $20 million in equity to support early-phase clinical trials. He was a key player in developing innovative assays for early detection technologies and played an integral role in selecting pre-clinical studies for Phase I and II clinical trials. Earlier in his career, Rocky spent over a decade at Amgen, where he earned several distinctions for his outstanding leadership and sales achievements, including the prestigious Chairman’s Circle Award and District Manager of the Year.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Rocky is an active member of his community, serving as a board member for Penn State Beaver and Tova Sickle Cell Anemia. He holds a Master of Public Administration (MPA) with an MBA minor and a Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture, both from Penn State University.
